Prior to launching 116 Accounting, I served Raytheon Missile Systems in a number of different Accounting/Finance roles. I have spent a number of years working alongside accountants in private practice with bookkeeping and tax matters for both individuals and businesses. I received my degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona's Eller College and I am recognized by the IRS as an Enrolled Agent.
What is 116? 116 is a popular Christian symbol that references Romans 1:16. Romans 1:16 says "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes." It was in the early phases of planning this endeavor that we subsequently came across Ecclesiastes 11:6 which suggests that we are to work hard at all we do (both in the morning and in the evening). It suggests that we are to diversify our work and business as we do not know which project will succeed, this, that, or perhaps both. As we strive to help those we partner with in their finances it seemed right that this wisdom was relevant and that the reference to 116 was appropriate.
